Project 365 - W08

Week Eight.

052410

I thought this was really funny. He snuggled himself up in my curtains and was peaking his nose out, ready to pounce on me. He loves to play :)

052510

I thought Riley looked really cute snuggled on the bed. I pretty much always think he looks cute, but I wanted to capture this one...

052610

Another picture of Riley sleeping next to the current National Geographic.

Project 365 - W07

Week Seven.

051710

Although I originally planned on just staying for the weekend, I hung around a little longer. Here's a picture of the boys chilling on my parents' couch, while we played cards.

051810

A picture of my stepmom with the boys out at a park, right after we took them for a walk. Note the dirty feet. Cullen's fur doesn't really attract the dirt and mud the ways the silky's fur does.

051910

My stepmom told me that Mojo likes to sit on top of the air conditioner - he will go up there and 'chill,' as it were. Shot from my bedroom window.

Rusher-Brown Wedding

Well, my friends Camilia Rusher and Chris Brown got married. Someone, besides me, was asked to take the pictures. So, I just took pictures for myself. It's kind of why at the wedding, I'm just in one spot and I basically have no pictures of the bride's face during the wedding - because of where I was sitting. But it was great for seeing Chris's face.

The most hysterical wedding I've ever been to. Mostly due to Chris.

_MG_8282

My favorite moment at any wedding - the moment the groom sees his bride and watches her walk down the aisle.

_MG_8294a

There were several times where you could almost see the wheels turning in Chris's head - like here where it looked like he was going 'whoa, I'm going to get to kiss Camilia soon!' (They didn't kiss throughout their relationship because they wanted to make sure they remained pure. I really think it's cool when my friends do things like this (which other people might think crazy, or way too drastic). I love that they worry more about what God would think and would want and what they can do to help the other person stay focused on godly things than just thinking about themselves.

Project 365 - W06

Week Six.

051010

Alright, so I like to pick pictures that amuse me. This one, as part of a project of EPJ, is of Romanda eating. Another one of those weird moments that a picture freezes in time.

051110

As part of my final project for Picture Story, I've been photographing Tammy and 'Aunt' Louise. I was over at their house and took several pictures and I don't know what it is about this moment, but I liked the picture.

051210

While I was over at Erica's hanging out, I took this picture of her daughter, Elle (pronounced Ellie). I think it's a pretty clever name, since her parents' first initials are L & E. It was unintentional.

Pet Minister Revisited

A revision of my earlier piece on Barbara Michael, a pet minister associated with Columbia's Unity Church. Michael was kind enough to let me witness and photograph their annual pet memorial, held on May 1, 2010. This revision includes sound and images taken from that memorial.

Pet Minister Revisited from Elisa Day on Vimeo.

Working on this project was a little frustrating because I couldn't find my original files that I used to create the first video. There were things I wanted to use and I couldn't because I couldn't find the original! Very frustrating. One positive - I didn't use Final Cut and amazingly, the edit and creation of this went much faster.

Project 365 - W05

Pictures from Week Five.

Knocked Out - 029/365

Over at Tammy's, their cat. He likes to pounce on people. And after playing 'tag' with us for a while, he fell asleep. This picture is the result, where he has crashed and was non-responsive, even when I wiggled his feet.

Lucky - 030/365

God was nice to me and supplied me with a paid parking meter :) I guess he felt sorry for me with the day I was having. It was a really hard day, very frustrating! I still feel bitter thinking about it.

My Man Cullen - 031/365

Just a quick pic since I am trying to get school work done. Two all-nighters in a row. Someone asked me what I was on to still be awake and the answer? Nothing.

Brittani and Gerald Get Married

On May 8th, my friends Brittani and Gerald got married in the Old Stone Church in Independence, Mo.

It was a little weird being in the church - the last time I'd been there was my grandmother's funeral. The wedding reception was in the same place that the reception after her funeral was held. It was a little bittersweet, but at least the tables weren't set up the same.

_MG_7119

One of my favorite pictures (and the one I chose for my 365 pic). They look so much like 'why are you taking my picture?' I don't know why it amuses me so, but it does.

_MG_7139a

Gerald seeing his bride walk in. Always love this moment.

_MG_7179c

I don't remember exactly why they did this, but it's one of those cool goofy pictures from a wedding.

Finally! Some Pics from My 30-Day Project!

After much drama, I have finally been able to start on my 30-day project. I'm excited but nervous at the same time. Because, unlike most of my other classmates, I haven't been able to really benefit from discussion and input as to how to drive this project. I know that my guiding sentence is 'the story of the sandwich generation.' Meaning, she's taking care of her grandchildren and now her mom. Here's some preliminary pictures:

_MG_7006a

Here's my new friend, Louise, Tammy's mom. She likes to be called 'Aunt Louise' and loves reality shows - so much that she records the results each week in a notebook :)

_MG_7020b

Louise arrived by plane and John and Tammy drove her furniture from the Bronx. Here it's welcome home, Tammy.

Project 365 - W04

It's week 4! Here's the pics:

Primary Overcast - 022/365

An overcast day - stinkin' rain. I really liked how the primary colored cars all ended up together. Not a typical thing.

Dud's Watching - 023/365

Looking in that eye, you wouldn't think he snores, would you?
