It's Not Superman, It's STRONGMAN

On July 24th, the Columbia Church of Christ held its first Strongman competition. Organized by Randall Heater, participants included children and adults, men and women.

It was on the hot side and it was sunny. But we had fun. I was lucky not to get a sunburn (I forgot my sunscreen).

Here's some of the fun:

It struck me as amusing that Reece was lugging these heavy things in flip flops. When I asked Daniel about it, he said that originally the kids events weren't supposed to entail walking with anything...

Zach is tired after lugging the bars. He leans on his dad, George.

Compared to everyone else, Tracy (who is around 6'10") looked like he was merely lugging a couple bags of luggage.

I love the expressions!

And few other great ones:

Heather Leidy, she was a monster - it seems she and her husband (Ted Collins) do this type of thing often. I loved watching her compete. She always had to do at least one more than any of the male teen competitors.

Debbie Newby gets her waist cinched by Ted Collins. That's what the face is for.

And my final pic again illustrates how *tall* Tracy Sines is.

This picture was taken as they prepared to adjust the bar for Tracy's height. Notice how it hits him in the waist? That was the height of someone's shoulders.
